BIR will penalize non-compliant businesses with a fine that ranges anywhere from P5,000 to P20,000. There’s also a possibility of prison time (6 months to 2 years).
How do I start the process of changing my business address?
Before receiving the Certificate of Registration at your new RDO, you must request a transfer from your former RDO. Your former RDO would then check any open case liabilities, such as missing papers or tax returns in their system. Compliance with open cases requires providing your former RDO with the relevant paperwork.
What documentary requirements do I need?
First, you must have proof of Application for Mayor’s Permit for your new business address.
For single proprietorships, take note of these key documents:
- Amended Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration for single ownership
- Original Certificate of Registration
- Copy of the Contract of Lease of the new business location.
For corporations or partnerships, take note of these documents:
- Original Certificate of Registration
- Amended SEC Registration or a DTI Certificate
- Board resolution asking for an additional line of business
- Certified true copy of the amended Articles of Incorporation
