To continue business operations, you must renew your permits before January 20 every year.
Yes. These are some of the penalties you’ll need to pay if you don’t renew on time (based on the National Internal Revenue and Local Government codes):
BIR Penalties:
- Fine of at least P5,000 but exceeding P20,000
- Prison time (at least 6 months but not exceeding 2 years)
LGU Penalties:
- 25% surcharge on the tax assessed with a 2% penalty per month (encompassing the length of time in which there was no valid business permit)
- Closure and/or seizure of properties and assets (for highly serious cases)
